Ms.Lauryn Hill signs a record deal for a $ 1 Mil, to pay taxes? That's not real!!!

Over the past few days we've noticed different sites reporting "Ms.Lauryn Hill signed a new deal for $ 1 Million" . I was happy but thought, why would a artist who has sold over 50 Million units worldwide sign a deal for that? We read she was evicted, facing prison time for tax evasion, and more.  She has signed a deal but it's more than just "a record deal" , again you have to keep in mind the artist has not put out music in 10+ years and has gone through some things in both public and private affairs; fans are overly eager to pick up anything Ms.Hill drops.

X The World!!

ATLFAME wasn't at SXSW but, Hyacinthe X(@HyacintheX) was out there and got some phenomenal footage for Creative Revolution Union. Hyacinthe X is a creative force behind videos for artist like  EDUBB, Young Scooter, La Da Booman, and Honors English. We meet up with him a couple of years ago and stay in contact..
He went out to SXSW with a crew of other videographers and they got some dope footage. They recorded the " New Atlanta Showcase" if you don't know who it was the artist were

Dj Speaker Foxx (@speakerfoxx)
Dj @genesisHTX , rapper S.L Jones (@Sljonesy), Miloh Smith(@milohsmith) , Rome Fortune (@romefortunesw) , Villa (@Villamorvilla) , Jarren Benton (@JarrenBenton). Scotty (@Scottyatl)
Grip Plyaz(@gripplyaz), Chevy Woodz (@chevywoodz) , Spree Wilson (@spreewilson), Forte Bowie, Rich Homie Qaun,  TWO 9(@two9), B.O.B(@bobatl), and Trinidad James (@trinadadJamesGG)

The video is chopped nicely and as clique as it sounds make you feel like you were there. Majority of these artist I have heard, but it's a few I haven't, I guarantee we'll be at a concert with them in the near future. Check the video out, and shoutout to the big homie Fort Knox (@Fortknoxlive) a man who is hosting all the hottest Hip Hop events in the City. (He probably scared those people behind him though)

Chase(@Mista_Tito) Art Expo

Visual Artist Chase displays his work at the Fort Valley Art Center. The two works he displayed are part of six piece series. The two pictures are an abstract drawing of a woman. The curves are accented heavily and the actual pieces themselves remind me of a more abstract drawing of old Outkast CD ART, i put together some photos and videos from the event check them out. Show some support to @Mista_tito

BLACK PEOPLE LETS DO BETTER PT.1

Albert a 6 year old Rapper
BLACK PEOPLE DO BETTER! Don't know were we feel off at(personally I think it was after they "gave" us civil rights), but we have to step it up. There are 6 year, 8 year & 13 year old rappers rapping about "running trains on hoes" , "shooting n*ggas, with infrared beams", and "selling bricks", seriously? No sense of pride or community what has happened to us and why are these people parents not being beat with gucci belts.

The recent Rick Ross lyrics on "UOENO"(pronounced you don't even know )  which states "I put a molly all in her champagne,UOENO it, I took her home and enjoyed that she didn't UOENO it", has sparked a backlash,( which I'm thankful for, seeing how there are more just totally unacceptable lyrics out there that go on not talked about.) to where he has apologized several times for the lyrics. I'm happy that people are now starting to hold "our" public figures to a higher standard, but it shouldn't stop there.
On one hand I don't want to stifle anyone's creativity, but this whole you sold 300 bricks, shot 23 people, and run the mob all before breakfast has got to stop, or be at least address. I meet Rick Ross at video shoot in Atlanta, when you got pass his rented jewelery(I meet the guy who owns many of the chains you see in videos),  Kush smoke, and Fiendi clothing you see a real person. He spoke about how he donated not just one computer BUT AN ENTIRE COMPUTER LAB AND FOOTBALL EQUIPMENT to a school, but you won't here about that in any of his rhymes, but you could visibly see in his eyes that he was proud of what he did, and he should be, that is very commendable. On the other hand Eminem and others have said WAY WAY worst.
Weezy, lil Wayne, Weezy F. Baby whatever he's calling himself these days got into some controversy recently for saying "beat the p*ssy up like Emmett Til", why would you reference him in that manner, not saying his the only rapper to use Emmett Til in a lyric but I can't remember one using his name like that.
Beyond the all mighty rap realm we don't own enough businesses. We don't own the store that we buy our hair from, the wings we frequently eat, the liquor store we shop at every other day, the gas station we get gas from, the coin wash were we wash our clothes or cars at, nothing! One thing we do have though is black doctors and lawyers, but what about the in between.
We have to find a way to keep our money in our neighborhood, teach our children to be financially responsible, and hold ourselves to a much higher scrutiny. The things we do to each other and say is increasingly unacceptable, and is only getting worse. BLACK PEOPLE I LOVE YA"LL BUT WE GOTTA DO BETTER....and maybe we should stop investing so much into rappers, entertainers, and athletes.
